“I’m trying to bring a fresh take on expressionism. When you first look at my paintings, you may find yourself peering out at an abstract expressionist composition or the quiet and moving form of the subject. One of the great joys for me is exploring both sides of this dynamic. The impulse always comes from inside, while music and the human body help me to put these emotions onto canvas. But you don’t just paint, each time I start a new piece, I’m trying to make up the unique goal to accomplish, some kind of super-task.”
