There are houses and a tree in the middle. Made graphical, flat and minimalistic
I wanted to depict a living tree, a living organism in the center of flat geometric shapes.
“I am always interested in landscape and nature. Large fields, clear skies – I love that minimalism. Recently, I have become interested in old architecture, in whole or in fragments. Windows, doors, roofs – everything that man once built with his own hands. And now this house is abandoned, and no one opens these doors, no one repairs the roof of this house. For me, this is not just an object, an old house, living the rest of its life, having its own history, its memories, its story: it attracts me to the natural beauty, the gradation of colors, the rust, the scuffs, the paint which is coming off, all the details that have appeared because of time. I am reminded of the paintings of Piet Mondrian (abstract artist of the 20th century) when I look at the windows of old houses – but realistic. I think all things become important over time, and time changes things and objects.”
